Inspiration at last!!!

YAY i finally have some ideas for my brief at the lastminute.com (which is funnily enough what my brief is about) after a weeks worth of worrying and stressing i didn't forsee that sitting on a train with NOTHING else to do for half an hour would relieve me of my "artist's block". I guess it was the fact that i had no distractions or entertainment so all i could do was think about my brief and hey presto it worked! Now i have to spend the next few days on photoshop :)
bye all xxxx

My City

For one of my second year projects we had to make our own zine. I did mine on Liverpool my hometown! Since it doesn't have the best reputation i thought i'd use my zine to show all the good things Liverpool has to offer. Shops, bars and clubs obviously. Not sure my teacher was too impressed so i threw in a few nice buildings and musuems etc to make myself look a bit less shallow. I decided to do my zine in a pretty illustrative style and these pictures are where i got my inspiration:

Jelly

How cool are these! They were designed by a company called Bompas and Parr who often take their jelly to an architectural level using cutting edge technologhy. Good enough to eat :)

Bodoni fans

This is Teresa Monachino’s latest book, Around The World with the Bodoni Family. The book is a typographic adventure that illustrates the idea of a journey from A to Z. 26 destinations are illustrated in Bodoni using only their initial capitals – A is for Alps etc. I just saw this on the disciples of design website and it really made me laugh (simple minds hey) so i thought i'd stick it on here :) x

bonjour!

Wow how exciting my first blog! Well my name is Laura and i'm studying graphic design at Preston Uclan :) which i love but this year it all got a bit harder so i'll have to work my primark pumps off to get the grade i want by the end of the year! I'm taking the Creative Buisness elective in which we have to start a blog which will beome a visual diary for my inspirations. Wish me luck :) xx
