Le Tour Eiffel

Researching Pecha Kucha presentation still and came across and interesting fact: that the Eiffel Tower one of the world's most recognised structures was originally designed for Barcelona! Their government thought it was too expensive and ugly, and didn't fit with the style of the city so Gustave Eiffel took the idea to Paris and voila, the most visited paid monument in the world (although was considered an eyesore at first!). Looks like Barca missed out on that one! At least they had Gaudi!
