Hello Sailor!!!

For our creative buisness elective we have been set the task of starting our own buisness in groups. At first it was an all girls group consisting of me, Rochelle, Heather and Olivia. Stephen (a first yr graphics student) wondered in late and got grouped with us which i felt really sorry for him about because personally i'd hate to be in a group of lads with a project like this! Rather different interests! We all had different ideas but eventually we settled on making jewellery (and possibly cupcakes) as we thought given our time limit and budget this would probably be quite an easy and cheap option. Then we had to decide on a team name, theme and logo. I came up with the idea of having a nautical theme as its coming into spring the nautical style with the stripes, colours and motifs always comes into fashion. We want pretty little anchors, shells and boats, all red, white or blue, maybe some gold rope, navy ribbons etc. We decided to name ourselves Hello Sailor! as obviously that is where we got our inspiration from. Our logo will be an anchor for now. As some mini market research me and Rochelle ventured into town to see our competition. As expected nautical is a big trend already with striped tops and dresses in Primark, red, white and blue being the main colours as we walked into New Look, and pretty rope necklaces and charm bracelets dotted with anchors and seahorses in River Island. Although the competition seems tough i think once we have designed our jewellery it will be original and cheaper, and also have more of a vintage, unique appeal.
We have also decided to promote our jewellery we will dress up in stripey tops and shorts an Stephen can dress up as the captain. Okay so maybe we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves with this now. Aye Aye Captain ;)
